The Coachella Valley Economic Partnership (CVEP) won a Silver Award for its Investor Package, a project in the Print Promotion category of the International Economic Development Council’s 2020 Excellence in Economic Development Awards Program. The honor was presented recently at an awards ceremony during the IEDC Annual Conference.

“Creating an Investor Package as well as a business attraction package had been on our “to-do” list for several years,” said Laura James, Vice President of Innovation at CVEP. “The resulting piece serves to entice and inform potential investors, but also includes enough information about living and doing business in the region to spur business attraction and relocation discussions.”

IEDC’s Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognize the world’s best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials, and the year’s most influential leaders. 35 award categories honor organizations and individuals for their efforts in creating positive change in urban, suburban, and rural communities. Awards are judged by a diverse panel of economic and community developers from around the world, following a nomination process held earlier this year. IEDC received over 500 submissions from 4 countries.

“The winners of IEDC’s Excellence in Economic Development awards represent the very best of economic development and exemplify the ingenuity, integrity, and leadership that our profession strives for each and every day,” said 2020 IEDC Board Chair and One Columbus CEO Kenny McDonald. “We’re honored to recognize the more than 100 communities whose marketing campaigns, projects and partnerships have measurably improved regional quality of life.”

Coachella Valley Economic Partnership aims to incite vision-driven transformation in the Greater Palm Springs region. Established in 1994, CVEP has emerged as a vital innovator of regional business development initiatives by fostering entrepreneurship and diversifying industry. As the only regional entity with the capacity to execute technology-led economic development, the partnership promotes a diversified, year-round economy by facilitating programs that stimulate job creation in key industries through business attraction, retention and expansion.

The CVEP Investor Package is a high-quality, mail-ready print piece that CVEP staff and the marketing and design team of Hunter|Johnsen worked together to create. The 16-page booklet resides inside of a folder embossed with tactile detail. The piece is targeted to executives and business owners from Greater Palm Springs and surrounding areas whose companies have funding available for economic development. The piece’s purpose is to aid in attracting economic development funding from new or past prospects. It also assists in informing those wanting to know more about the Greater Palm Springs area, especially entrepreneurs and businesses considering relocating to or starting up their business in the region.
